We introduced two poses of the week in our first parent-child yoga class. I encourage parents to practice these poses at home to get your child familiarized with them.

1. Downward Dog

Downward dog is one of the most practiced yoga poses and it has health benefits too! It relieves stress and energizes the body and can be great for kids with indigestion or digestive problems.

2. Cobra pose

Also known as the snake pose in Kids Yoga, this pose is a great one for preschoolers as a belly exercise. A great heart opening pose which allows yourself to be open to changes. Have fun in this pose hissing like a snake or pretend to play the musical flute in front of your kid to encourage him to stretch deeper.
