Sensory Play- Body Parts

Preparing sensory bins is one of my favorite activity! I simply love feeling different textures, seeing different colors coming together and having the space to create something new or interesting out of the materials in the bin.

This week, we will be building on what we have learnt about different body parts in our music and movement segment and also the little book - Where's baby's belly button?

In this sensory bin, we have...

1. Colorful pasta of varying shapes and sizes as the sensory medium- the bright vivid colors are meant to stimulate our sense of sight.

2. Foam alphabet letters with velcro strips- for little ones attempting to recognise the letters of the alphabets and for the older ones to learn to spell!

3. Jigsaw puzzles of body parts- search and find the missing part!

4. Pipe cleaners- for fine motor skills, threading of pasta

5. Varying tools for scooping and transferring- for gross motor skills
